This weekend we packed our backpacks, hopped on the bus, and went to Quepos, a small, beautiful town by the sea, located about two hours away from San Isidro. If you want to know the best food-spots, what to do and where to stay in Quepos – keep reading!

We decided to stay at the hostel Villas Jacquelina, and it did not disappoint! This hostel alone is worth a visit to Quepos!

I would describe Villas Jaquelina as a childhood dream: a GIANT treehouse with “flying beds”, designed spots for watching the sunrise, rooftop workout space, ice bath, sauna, swimming pool and hammocks. It is also plenty of space to hang out which perfect for big friend groups.

Pssst! The sunrise is very beautiful from up here!

Also, the hostel is located only 15 minutes walking from the city centre. PS: If you put in a good review on Trip Advisor, you get a free breakfast… as many times as you want!

The first morning here in Quepos, we went to Manuel Atonio, one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful National Parks. I highly recommend taking the bus here as well, as it is very cheap and goes directly from Quepos.

We made our guide take pictures through the telescope…

We decided to have a guided tour in the park, and don’t regret a second. He managed to spot animals we would never have seen by ourselves. (Pro tip: don’t preorder a guide, and don’t be afraid to negotiate while you are there. We managed to get the price down to 7 dollars per person).

… and the results were amazing!

After the visit to Manuel Antonio, we went to the farmer’s market by the coast. Here you can buy fresh local fruits and vegetables, as well as it is the perfect spot for watching the sunset (iiiif not cloudy).

The next morning a group of students woke up at 6 am to go skydiving!!! And believe me when I tell you it is the funniest thing I have ever done!! Both the feeling and the view was amazing. We could even see Manuel Antonio from above!

OMG!

The skydive centre, Skydive Costa Rica, is located about 10 minutes away from the hostel by car, and have experienced and professional employees. I never felt unsafe once.

And now over to the tastiest part; where to eat?

Lunch and dinner: For dinner we went to the Soda SĂĄnchez where they serve all kinds of foods. For cheap (and good) pizza you could go to Pizza Gabriels or Pizza Jessie. They both offer take away.

I recommend ordering pizza to go and bring it to the beach to eat while you watch the sunset

Breakfast: At the Ville Jacquelina, they set up a unique breakfast menu every week with tasty new dishes every morning. 10/10

Thank you for an amazing weekend Quepos, we will for sure meet again!
