Last Saturday, two students from Kulturstudier, Tobi and Emil and another friend of theirs Julia travelled to Accra to take part in a live TV programme. “The DIVA SHOW” on TV3 is programme that brings together different groups of people to discuss issues relating to sports in the country and in the world in general. Last Saturdays programme saw popular award-winning Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei and upcoming actress Sonia Ibrahim as some of the VIP guests on the show. Others like Ghana’s number comedian Funny Face, and the finalists of the popular reality show “MTN hitmaker” were also there.

When it was the turn of the students from Kulturstudier to get on the show, the atmosphere in Nana Bema Hotel, the home of Kulturstudier was charged with much anticipation. We were very happy to see our colleagues discuss football live on a national television. Emil and Julia shared their experience from the world cup 2014 qualifier match between Ghana and Egypt played in Kumasi last Tuesday. Though Tobi watched the game from Cape Coast, he was also very anaytical about the game. They were excited that Ghana won the game by 6 goals to 1 in the first leg. They believed with this, Ghana will definately qualify forBrazil 2014.

There was a brief discussion about the world cup in Brazil 2014 and the countries that are likely to make it to the finals and eventually win the cup. While many believe Brazil is the most likely to win it, Funny Face believed the next world cup will be won by Ghana and no one else.
After the show, the students had a ride in  Funny Face’s Range Rover. After a ride in town, they were at the Accra mall for breakfast.
Tobi, Emil and Julia returned to Cape Coast in the afternoon and described experience as exciting one of their happiest moments in Ghana.Special thanks to Juliet Bawuah (https://www.facebook.com/Julietbawuah?hc_location=stream) for helping Kulturstudier students to be guests on the Diva Show.

Emil narrates his experience from Kumasi:
I entered the stadium well before kick off in order to get the most out of the game. I was not alone, the stands were crowded, all ready 1,5 hour before kick off. The atmosphere was vibrant!
As the game progressed you could tell that all the 22 players on the pitch were affected by the enormous support given from the crowd. In the end, Ghana were able to defeat Egypt 6 – 1, a result that is likely to carry them all the way to Brazil for the world cup next summer.
I’m very happy that I went to Kumasi for this game, it turned out to be one of my very best experiences in Ghana so far.
