It is crazy how fast time flies by. Ten weeks are already over. Lectures and seminars are over. Fieldwork is done. Oral presentations and 3 days exam is submitted. What remains is home exam. Studying development studies here in Leon has been great. There has been some ups and downs, some life crisis here and there, but at the end of the day, it has all lead to meeting great people and getting experience for life.
To you whom wants to or is thinking about studying development studies in Nicaragua, go for it! Development studies in Nicaragua give a very good understanding of how development is happening (or not happening) in Nicaragua and Latin America in general. Through 3 weeks with fieldwork you really get to know your topic and it helps you to understand more. More interesting is it when you find yourself so engaged in your fieldwork without realizing it. Through discussions and seminars you get a broader perspective and understanding of your readings. I have really enjoyed studying in Leon and I am really thankful for the opportunities I have gotten. Remember that even though the study is very interesting, without putting an effort it will will be hard to get the benefit of the study. Goodluck!
Thank you to Kulturstudier for giving me the chance to learn and grow!
