I think everyone agrees that the two first weeks went by fast! We have had a lot of time to get to know each other and discover new places in and around the city. Some of us even went on a small weekend trip to the Marble Mountains the first weekend. We were all excited despite that we did not know too much about the place.
The Marble Mountains is a cluster of five marble and limestone hills north of Hoi An, but there is only one of the mountains which is accessible for visitors. It was no more than 150 steps and some climbing through caves and tunnels until we reached the top of Thuy Son. Perfect for a Sunday hike! There are also several Buddhist sanctuaries within the mountains, which make this a known tourist destination. Some of us claimed that they saw bats, Cecilie was even convinced that one of them hit her on the way up. I did not see any…
I got a lot of energy out of the weekend and was ready for a new week with developments studies as well as a lot of optional activities. Cinema, English teaching, football practice and quiz is some of the activities I assume will be a part of the schedule the next few weeks. As well as Taco Thursday and Mia Café.
One of the activities that was arranged by kulturstudier was a boat trip. It was really nice and we got to see an amazing sunset! All students live in “homestays” and there is always someone doing something that you can join or if you just want to relax or read curriculum at home that is also totally accepted. I live with six others and share a room with Hanna, she is super friendly.
It is very interesting to see how fast we all have gotten used to each other. Some of us has never shared a flat before and find it very nice and fun. We even made homemade pancakes together one day! If you want to see how we live you can follow this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9SI0IgcUbs&t=201s, Amalie made a “housetour” J
Next up: Vietnam Day!
I enjoy your report very much.
Thank you for taking us with you on your adventures.
