Dr. Axel Borchgrevink

Axel Borchgrevink is a social anthropologist and associate professor at Oslo and Akershus University College. He has done anthropological fieldwork in farming communities in Nicaragua and the Philippines. His book Clean and Green: Knowledge and Morality in a Philippine Farming Community was published in 2014 by Ateneo de Manila University Press. His research interests also include development cooperation, civil society and political development, and he has published on these themes with empirical material from both Central America and the Horn of Africa.
